DESTROY BOYS

Destroy Boys, formed in Sacramento in 2015 by Alexia Roditis and Violet Mayugba while still in high school, initially released acoustic demos on Bandcamp. Their debut album, *Sorry, Mom*, featured the underground hit “I Threw Glass At My Friend’s Eyes and Now I’m On Probation.” The follow-up, *Make Room*, recorded by Martin Cooke, included favorites like “Crybaby” and “Duck Eat Duck World,” which later appeared on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater soundtrack.Adding drummer Narsai Malik in 2018, the band began extensive touring, including UK shows and opening for indie acts. Their rising popularity on Spotify and TikTok led to a 2020 signing with Hopeless Records. Their first Hopeless release, “Muzzle,” was followed by the LP *Open Mouth, Open Heart* in late 2021, addressing pandemic frustrations and online bullying with tracks like “Escape” and “Locker Room Bully.”Despite pandemic-related tour disruptions, Destroy Boys saw their fanbase expand significantly. Their 2022 tour with Alkaline Trio and Taking Back Sunday, plus performances at Riot Fest and Dia De Los Deftones, solidified their growing popularity. They began recording their fourth album with Carlos De La Garza, exploring garage punk and 90’s indie rock.In 2023, Destroy Boys are set for bigger experiences, including appearances at Coachella and a return to the UK and Ireland for Slam Dunk Fest, headline shows, and a European tour featuring Roskilde, SBAM!, and Sziget, with new music expected from their upcoming untitled album.
